Coconut Lime Cookies {grain-free}
After supper, we don’t usually have dessert, but we do like to have a little treat with a cup of peppermint tea. However, it’s difficult to find something that isn’t filled with sugar and other carbohydrates, and therefore likely to keep us counting sheep all night. As I was trying to come up with an

Spring Violet Fairy Cakes {dairy-free}
In celebration of this 1st Day of May, also known as May Day, the midway point between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice, I foraged some little wild violets that were growing in our backyard to make the icing for these little fairy cakes. I’ve also been thinking about adding pumpkin to more recipes, because it adds moisture and depth of flavour, and is so nutritious. The cup of pumpkin puree in this recipe adds an extra 8 grams of fibre, as well as lots of Vitamin

Zimtsterne – Gluten-Free Cookies
I was browsing David Lebovitz’s site today, and I came across his post on Zimtsterne; delicious looking star-shaped cinnamon cookies which he buys from “Stohrer, Paris’ oldest pastry shop”. He didn’t have a recipe on the site, but one of the commenters, someone named Alisa, had posted a German recipe with her comment. So I

Happy Holidays!
I’ve been playing around with some fun filmmaking techniques, so I thought I would make my holiday greeting this way this year. This was made using what’s called the stop motion animation technique (something which I obviously need a lot more practice at!). The music is Shane playing Tchaikovsky’s ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’.
